fact checking obama's jobs *speech* and who said what?

The bill hasn't been written yet, so we can't call it a jobs bill.

AP fact checked the jobs speech, and Hot Air summed it up:
In Barack Obama’s speech to the joint session of Congress, the President emphasized that his new jobs plan had four specific qualities that made it easy to pass this bill immediately, as Obama chanted repeatedly during his speech. His plan would be fully funded, it would not add to the deficit, it would create jobs immediately, and it was chock-full of bipartisan ideas. The Associated Press fact-checked these claims, and found them all false.

Paid for? No.

Bipartisan? Uh-uh.

Deficit-neutral? Negative.

And immediately effective? Not even close.

However, the same elements Obama insisted last night would stimulate job growth were the same elements that comprised the 2009 stimulus bill. We have the same speeded-up infrastructure spending (this time masquerading as an “infrastructure bank”), the same money for state bailouts dressed up as rescue packages for teachers and first responders, the same Making Work Pay-type temporary tax cut for workers, and a “hiring tax credit” that flopped when Jimmy Carter first tried it.

Obama didn’t offer one single new idea last night. He didn’t even offer an idea on how to pay for the bill, whose price tag Obama never mentioned once in his speech but has now bloated from an initial estimate of $300 billion to $450 billion. Instead, he told Congress to figure out how to carve the cost out of future spending while it battles over meeting its $1.5 trillion commitment from last month’s debt-ceiling increase.

Sounds like a Slap Chop commercial.

Half a trillion dollars for 1.3M jobs in 2012, and 600k by end of 2013...? Seriously? With 14M people out of work?

Heritage’s experts watched President Barack Obama’s jobs speech delivered to a joint session of Congress. Here are some of their immediate reactions.

Bill O'Reilly took Carney to task over the Buffett meme, and the fact that Jefferey Immelt was a guest at the speech.

Heck, if this jobs bill only creates 1.3M jobs in 2012, Immelt could add about half of those if he just brought his jobs back to America. And if GE and Buffett paid their taxes...

No wonder...

Good thing Obama's so much smarter than that stupid Sarah Palin, who always gets history wrong, huh? He would never fumble his history references...

Morrissey offers the smartest President in history a little history lesson:
Er, not quite. Lincoln wasn’t even the GOP’s first Presidential nominee; the first Republican nominee was John C. Fremont in 1856. As the Independence Hall Association recalls, the actual founders of the Republican Party are “Northern leaders such as Horace Greeley, Salmon Chase and Charles Sumner.” Lincoln joined early, as did other anti-slavery Whigs whose party was unraveling at the time, and Lincoln came in second for the 1856 vice-presidential nomination, but he was not a founder of the party. By the time he became a factor in the GOP, the party had already taken a majority in the House of Representatives (1855); it also carried 11 states and 114 electoral votes in the 1856 election that sent Democrat James Buchanan to the White House.

Next time Obama wants to lecture Republicans on their own history, maybe he should take the time to learn it first.
Remember, it's not what was said, but WHO says it, that matters...Cosmic hypocrisy.

Cuz, ya know, Palin and Bachmann were talking about literally killing their opponents, where as Hoffa was just talking about voting. See, it matters WHO said it, not what was said! You silly people!

OLBERMANN CONDEMNS HOFFA’S VIOLENT RHETORIC

CORRECTION: We erroneously thought Mr. Olbermann was referring to Jimmy Hoffa's use of "army" and "war" and "take these sons of bitches out" when referring to the tea party yesterday. Apparently, Mr. Olbermann was actually speaking in reaction to the tragic shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson.

We regret the error.
heh! Idiot.

Just like when Palin had a map with targets on it, it represented violent imagery that incited murder, but when Democrats use maps with targets, they clearly are just referring to voting. Got it?

Oh the memories... Reminds me of the time when Democrats used to cry out "Take Back Our Country". But of course, we now know that it is racist to want to take back your country. Just remember, it's not what is said, but WHO says it, that matters!

And of course, the Left was in an uproar claiming Hoffa was taken out of context, that he said *vote*, and yet MSNBC took Bachmann out of context and she is clearly talking about voting in November in her speech. Doesn't matter, though. She is clearly promoting violence. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

So remember, if Palin uses a map with targets on it, and a year later someone is shot by a crazed lunatic, and the shooting has NOTHING to do with Palin or Conservatives, or Tea Partiers, it's ok to accuse Conservatives of murder. Immediately. Do not wait for facts. Just rush to judgement. And be sure to continue spreading that lie, for months. Repeatedly.

But, when Teamster head James Hoffa declares war on the Tea Party, while warming the stage for President Barack Obama, and yells out:
“We gotta keep an eye on the battle we face: the war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They got a war, and they got a war with us. There is only going to be one winner and it’s going to be us....Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to America where we belong."
And then a terrible shooting happens the next day, killing several National Guardsmen, there's no reason for the media to speculate whether Hoffa's comments had anything to do with the shooting, or if all the anti-tea party hostility and anger because they want to secure the border had anything to do with the shooting, like they did with Palin in AZ. And why? Cuz Hoffa made the comments, not Palin, silly! Remember!

And remember, when Conservatives try to get the country out of debt, and stop unsustainable spending, they are hostage takers.

Hey, did you happen to hear about the union members who took actual hostages, the other day? It's ok, they're just hard workin' folks! Nothing to see here! Non-violence is their motto!

There's no need for another civility call from Obama, no pleas needed to stop the name calling or *violent, hostile* rhetoric. He doesn't want to be the Speech Police for Democrats, after all! (He reserves his policing for Conservatives.) And come on, Hoffa speaks for himself, not for Obama! But, you know, when surrogates, supporters, or audience members of McCain or Palin said anything, they were fully held accountable by the Obama camp. But that's ok, cuz it doesn't matter what was said, but WHO said it.

Signed,

Your Bitter gun clingin' bible totin' hostage takin' racist barbarian terrorist son of a bitch teabagger, who's going straight to hell, and wants to lynch black people (apparently)!

(I am none of those things...)
