Who in the hell thought this would be a good idea? Why were they doing a photoshoot with the President's airplane and fighter jets, flying low over Manhattan?White House Military Office director Louis Caldera issued a brief statement.
“Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision,” he said. “While federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey, its clear that the mission created confusion and disruption. I apologize and take responsibility for any distress that flight caused.”…You get a real sense of the fear that these people went through, in this video:
An administration official said the Federal Aviation Administration was informed this would be taking places, and notified Mr. Bloomberg’s office on April 22.
The problem was the FAA was told the information was classified and did not alert the press to warn the public.
When President Obama was told about the incident, he was “furious,” a White House official says.
Well, I'm sure he's not the only one who lost sleep over it.
The threat of a terrorist attack is so much on the back burner that nobody in the Obama administration even thought that flying a low jetplane with a fighter jet in tow would be an issue, in NY, NJ or anywhere. If they actually witnessed an attack, lost family members or friends or even thought of those who did then things would be different. It was a very hare-brained idea and I feel very badly for all those people who have to relive their painful memories because of a photoshoot.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the the class-action lawsuit for this fiasco I say.
Do you REALLY think Obama and Axelrod didn't know about this???????
ReplyDeleteI don't believe ANYTHING they say....
